True to its Provencal roots, the Domaine MasLauris will produce red, rosé and white wines, vinified on site at the Domaine under the guidance of Michel Tardieu.  Made with grapes harvested by hand, these organically certified wines hope to fully embody the typicity of the grape varieties of the Luberon appellation.

L’Inopiné White 2019 – AOP Luberon
Organic Wine

Grape varieties: Roussanne 40%, Vermentino 40%, Viognier 10%, Grenache blanc 10%

Soil: Sandy loam and gravel

Climate: Land parcels situated at 300 meters altitude at the foot of the Luberon mountains.  In summer, the microclimate allows the Maslauris grapevines to benefit from cool nights which attenuate the heat of the day.  The presence of the Mistral wind, which is active year round, plays a key role in the irreproachable healthy state of our grapes.  These different factors bring subtlety to our matured grapes and freshness to the wine.

Grapevines:  Vines from certified organic agriculture with a low yield, harvested by hand with the strictest rigor, very early in the morning using headlamps, in order to bring the grapes in cold and thereby preserve their integrity.

Yield: 30Hl/hectare. 

Vintage: 2019, a hot and particularly dry year.  After a slightly humid early spring, there was a heat wave at the beginning of summer and no rain fell during the rest of the season.  The vines had to draw down deeper into the subsoil.  The water scarcity gave the vines the opportunity to explore its terroir to a maximum.  An uneven harvest followed in order to juggle between rain and heterogeneous maturity levels.  A relatively low yield with small grapes, however an irreproachable healthy state with strong flavors.

Vinification: Cold prefermentary maceration in order to enhance aromatic extraction.  Cold stabilization before fermentation. Organic certified alcoholic fermentation, of which 40% of the wine is fermented in oak barrels. Aged for 4 months primarily in stainless steel vats with 40% aged in oak barrels.  Blending of the juices in early 2019 with bottling at the end of winter, fully respecting the lunar calendar in order to preserve the maximum aromatic potential.

Alcohol level: 13,5%Vol.

Tasting Comments: This wine possesses a magnificent green gold robe.  A crisp and elegant nose reveals aromas of white-fleshed fruit with hints of brioche and exotic fruit. On the palate, a lively attack, rounded ou by its body and freshness. 
A well-balanced wine with a long finish.

Ideal to accompany fish, seafood, white meat, but also cheeses such as Luberon goat cheese.  Also, perfect for a simple cocktail party with friends.  Ready for consumption.  Can also be kept for at least 5 years.

L’Inopiné Rosé 2019 – AOP Luberon

Grape varieties: Grenache Noir 65%, Mourvèdre 35%

Soil: Sandy loam and gravel

Tasting: A wine with a magnificent pale pink robe highlighted with hints of purple. The nose is subtle and intense with hints of citrus and exotic fruit.  Very delicate.  Fresh and crisp on the palate with a nice full body.  You will find hints of citrus fruits at the attack. Ideal with light meals, salads, sushi, grilled meats.  Also, an excellent accompaniment for more elaborate, gourmet meals of fish or prime cuts of meat. And of course, the wine is perfect for drinks with friends in both summer and winter.

L’Inopiné Red 2018 – AOP Luberon

Grape varieties: Serine 85%, Mourvèdre 15%

Soil: Sandy loam and gravel

Climate: Land parcels situated at 300 meters altitude at the foot of the Luberon mountains.  In summer, the microclimate allows the Maslauris grapevines to benefit from cool nights which attenuate the heat of the day. The presence of the Mistral wind, which is active year round, plays a key role in the irreproachable healthy state of our grapes. These different factors bring subtlety to our matured grapes and freshness to the wine.

Grapevines:  Vines from certified organic agriculture with a medium yield, harvested by hand with the strictest rigor, very early in the morning using headlamps in order to bring in the grapes cold and thereby preserve their integrity.

Yield: 45Hl/hectare

Vintage: 2018, a humid year with a hot summer.  Thanks to a generous amount of rain in the spring, water reserves were reconstituted following a particularly dry 2017.   A beautiful hot summer followed, allowing the grapes to grow in optimal conditions.  Exceptional weather during the  harvest with sunny days and cool nights permitted a harvest at perfect maturity levels.  As a result, handsome, fleshy grapes were harvested by hand with strict care.

Vinification:  Reception of the harvested grapes is made using a gravity-based structure .  Alcoholic fermentation in concrete tanks.  Upon reception, 1/3 of the grapes were put into the vats in full clusters, 1/3 destemmed but not pressed and 1/3 destemmed and pressed, when put into the vats.   Very little sulfite was used.  Blending took place after 4 weeks of maceration.

Ageing: 100% in concrete tanks.

Alcohol content: 14%Vol.

Tasting: An intense red garnet colored robe highlighted by purplish hints.  The nose reveals aromas of well-ripened red and dark berries, such as blackcurrant, along with a hint of licorice and pepper. On the palate, the wine is balanced with touches of spice and a hint of cocoa.  Very long finish.  This wine is ideal to accompany red meat and game meat, but also with hard cheeses such as Cheddar and Mimolette.  Would also go well with dark chocolate desserts.  

A great wine which can be consumed immediately, after decanting.  Can be kept 10-15 years.

 

Les Terres de Maslauris rosé 2019 – AOP Luberon

Grape varieties: Cinsault 55%, Grenache 30%, Syrah 15%

Tasting : An intense red garnet colored robe.  The powerful nose reveals hints of candied red berries with touch of spice.  On the palate, there an aroma of well-ripened cherries is first revealed, complemented with easy, elegant tannins. Ageing in wood brings complexity to this wine, as well as a long finish.  Ideal with a plate of cold cuts or red meat.  Ready for consumption.  Can be kept for at least 10 years.

Le N. white 2019 – AOP Luberon
Organic Wine (no sulfites added)

Grape varieties: Vermentino. A touch of  Grenache Blanc  

Soil: Sandy loam and gravel

Alcohol level: 13%Vol.

Tasting: A lovely fermented fruit juice resulting in a “natural” wine, bottled as such.  The natural and jovial quality of this lively wine will wholly satisfy enthusiasts.  

 

 

Les Gres red 2018 – AOP Luberon
